Detroit District

The Detroit District, established in 1841, covers 82,000 square miles of land inhabited by about 14 million people and includes the state of Michigan and portions of the states of Indiana, Wisconsin and Minnesota with 3,200 miles of Great Lakes shoreline.

The Detroit District is proud to provide engineering products and services that serve the nation and the military.

The civil works missions provide navigation, flood risk management, environmental restoration, regulatory program, international and interagency support, emergency management, hydropower and recreation.
