Common Errors:

There are a few common errors that occur when new users use  MaxView for the first time, these are all user errors and are easy to fix.

    1. The contractor receives the files thru email rather then downloading the zip file.

Common Errors that happen when this occurs is as follows

  • Someone attempts to open files thru the email rather then saving the attachments to a folder:

Solution:  you can not open the files in the email. Maxview will not be able to reconnect all the link that are created during the initial process and you will receive errors.  Please download all files to a folder and recreated the required folder structure within the parent folder shown above.

  •     Someone attempts to open a single (plans sheet).cal file with the intentions of just printing or viewing the file to take measurements.

Solution: all .cal files are strictly image files, they are not meant for user use. the plans.maxfr.maxFR uses those files. Please download all files to a folder and recreated the required folder structure within the parent folder shown above. then open either the entry.maxFR and click the plans button or go into the plans folder and open the plans.maxfr.maxFR file to view all the plans.

    2. The contractor downloads the zip file and after extracting the files to a folder or other desired location, all the files are in one folder.

  •     This happens sometimes when the zip files is not zipped perfectly and the folder structure does not get included in the zipping.

Solution: Recreate the required folder structure within the parent folder shown above.

    3. After either recreating the required folder structure or receiving the folder correct from the start, you open the entry.maxFR file and click plans button and nothing happens.

  •     This is a linking issue during creation. Typically this is find and fixed before publication, but incase it did not you can still get to all the files that the  button was suppose to open.

Solution: Close the entry.maxFR file and open the plans folder, then open the plans.maxfr.maxFR file.

    4. After either recreating the required folder structure or receiving the folder correct from the start, you open the entry.maxFR file and click specification button and nothing happens.

  •     This is a linking issue during creation. Typically this is find and fixed before publication, but incase it did not you can still get to the file that the  button was suppose to open.

Solution: Close the entry.maxFR file and open the specification pdf if one is included the original download.
