The Duluth Area Office, located on the westernmost end of the Great Lakes, is responsible for the dredging of harbors and the repair of breakwaters and piers in Lake Superior.


Photo: The Duluth Office is also responsible for the operation of the Canal Park and Canal Park Museum.


The Duluth Office is also responsible for the operation of the Canal Park and Canal Park Museum. The Museum has become one of the most popular attractions in Minnesota, drawing hundreds of thousands of people each year.

The Canal Park is located adjacent to the Duluth Ship Canal, excavated in 1871 to enable ships to enter the bay.
