The LMPDS Study Team is pleased to welcome Woolpert LLP of Dayton, Ohio - an award winning multi-disciplinary planning and engineering company - and Earth Data International of High Point, North Carolina - a leader in the airborne imaging, mapping, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) profession - to the LMPDS Study. Woolpert and Earthdata (and their teams of sub-consultants) will provide a range of GIS, mapping, air photo and database services to the Detroit District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, much of which will be in support of the Lake Michigan Potential Damages Study. Study Update Workshops held July 25-27
The LMPDs Study Team held two Study Update Workshops this past July to update agency personnel and interested public on the status of the study. A focus of these meetings was the discussion of the implications of extreme water levels on coastal processes, planning policy and management, effectiveness of shoreline structures, and coastal hazard management. The first workshop was held in Zeeland, Michigan on July 25, 2000 at the Zeeland Community Center. Approximately 50 people were in attendance. The second workshop was held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 27, 2000 at the University of Wisconsin, Great Lakes Water Institute. Approximately 40 people were in attendance and were provided with similar updates on 2000 activities, but with a focus on Ozaukee, Sheboygan, and Manitowoc counties in Wisconsin. Final 1999 Progress Reports Now Available A Final Progress Report on 1999 activities within the LMPDS is now available for download at the LMPDS Document Clearinghouse.
Updated Plan of Study Available An updated Plan of Study is now available on the LMPDS Document Clearinghouse. It is updated as of April 2001.
