Investigation of social impacts will focus primarily on:


1999 activities for this task included a detailed investigation of specific land use and shoreline management practicesthat are in place in each of the 5 prototype counties to determine the effect they have had on reducing damages along the shoreline, and to what extent these programs may reduce potential damages in the future. Based on this review, recommendations will be made as to which strategies or practices would be suitable to utilize over the 50 year planning horizons.

To determine riparian response to water level issues, a series of focus groups were held with riparian interest groups. These sessions solicited information from various interest groups as to what their response would be to each of the five water level scenarios that are being investigated.
